Music is played through wireless headphones instead of through a loudspeaker system. There is a mix of familiar music played from different era’s – 1950’s, 60s and 70s.
Music has the power to uplift people, but combined with the physical movement of dance, it has additional benefits.
Dementia residents at Cumberland View Aged Care recently had their chance to get down and boogie. Staff saw residents that are usually quiet, get up and start singing and dancing. They were having a ball of a time. It was great to see them happy and enjoying themselves.
