Biggest Morning Tea 2025

Cumberland Comes Together for Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea

What a truly uplifting afternoon we had here at Cumberland View Retirement Living, as residents and staff came together for a cause close to our hearts; the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea.

The event was lovingly organised by our wonderful resident Di, whose attention to detail and heartfelt dedication brought warmth and beauty to every corner of the room. Di’s commitment to this annual fundraiser continues to inspire us all, and her efforts helped set the tone for a day filled with compassion, connection and community spirit.

Residents gathered for a delicious afternoon tea, where stories were shared, laughter echoed, and heartfelt conversations unfolded. A particularly moving moment came when our cherished resident Linda shared her personal journey with cancer. With strength and grace, she spoke of her experience; the challenges, the triumphs, and the importance of hope. Her openness and resilience touched everyone present.

Linda is a much-loved member of our community, not only for her courage but also for the energy and joy she brings to Cumberland. She leads our Zumba and Walk in Water classes, encouraging others to stay active and engaged, always with a smile and a kind word.

Thanks to the generosity of our residents, team, and wider community, we’re proud to share that we raised $1,200 for the Cancer Council. These funds will support cancer research, patient care and vital services for Australians impacted by cancer.

At Cumberland View, we believe in the power of togetherness and events like these remind us just how strong our community truly is. Thank you to everyone who donated, attended, and contributed to this special day.
