Cumberland View Aged Care September highlights

September Highlights at Cumberland View Aged Care

September was full of energy and connection at Cumberland View Aged Care, with residents coming together to celebrate, create and enjoy the company of friends old and new. Every week offered something to look forward to; from special events and live entertainment to good food and shared laughter.

We started the month with a memorable Father’s Day celebration featuring Ricky “Elvis,” whose performance had everyone singing along. Each of our Dads received a thoughtful gift, and the day was topped off with milkshakes, happy hour, men’s group, cooking, craft and chair Tai Chi with Chris – a few of the favourite activities that keep our residents active and connected.

Music was a highlight throughout September, with talented Wheelers Hill College and Caulfield Grammar students performing for residents, along with Alex Matthews on guitar and several beautiful piano recitals. Our dining room took on a festive flair with Mexican cuisine in honour of Mexican Independence Day, adding colour and flavour to the month’s celebrations.

The build-up to the AFL Grand Final brought plenty of excitement around the village. Residents joined in the footy tipping competition, and over 50 participants celebrated at the footy tipping presentation, where winners were recognised with prizes and trophies. We kept the good times rolling with entertainment from Doug D’Rose at happy hour and a fabulous 60’s show with The Golden Girls that filled the room with music, dancing and laughter.

At Cumberland View Aged Care, community life is about connection, creativity and celebrating together. Each month brings new opportunities to share experiences, enjoy great company and make every day something special.
